We’re looking for a passionate, creative chef to join the team at a new bar and restaurant in Phnom Penh serving up bold, indulgent American comfort food — think smash burgers, wings, tenders, and fully loaded fries. Do you know your way around a flat-top grill? Do you have strong opinions on what makes the perfect mac and cheese or how to get fries crispy from scratch? Are you the kind of person who’s always tweaking recipes, saving food reels, and plating up meals that make people hungry just looking at them? If you love cooking big flavours, follow food culture closely, and want to be part of a small team bringing something new to the city, this could be the role for you. ⸻ What we’re looking for: • 1+ year experience cooking in a Western-style or American-style kitchen • Great knowledge of American comfort food and how to prepare it well • Attention to detail in food prep, cleanliness, and presentation • Able to follow recipes consistently — and suggest improvements too • Familiar with kitchen hygiene standards and food safety • Able to work independently when needed • Able to read and understand English and Khmer • Willing to work late (some shifts finish at midnight) • A strong team player, with good communication skills • Ambitious and eager to grow with the company ⸻ Tasks include: • Prepping and cooking smash burgers, tenders, wings, fries, sandwiches, and more • Learning and following house recipes and cooking methods • Helping to document recipes for consistency • Supporting the head chef in managing stock and maintaining kitchen organisation • Occasionally running the kitchen solo during quieter shifts • Assisting in coming up with new flavour ideas or weekly specials ⸻ Benefits: • Competitive salary (negotiable for the right candidate) • 6-day working week, 8-hour shifts (including one-hour break) • 18 paid holidays per year, plus Khmer New Year and Pchum Ben • 12 day sick leaves per year • Basic health insurance • One free staff meal per shift • Training, development, and room to grow with the business
