Job Summary: The Night Auditor is responsible for managing the hotel’s front desk operations during the overnight shift, ensuring the safety and comfort of guests while performing end-of-day financial reconciliation. This role combines customer service, administrative tasks, and accounting responsibilities to maintain seamless hotel operations during nighttime hours.
1. Guest Services
- Provide a warm and professional welcome to late-arriving guests.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, and room assignments efficiently.
- Address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a timely and courteous manner.
- Act as the main point of contact for all guests during the night shift.
2. Night Audit Tasks
- Reconcile and close the daily accounts, ensuring accuracy in revenue, payments, and charges.
- Prepare and distribute daily financial and operational reports to management.
- Balance front desk transactions, including cash drawers, credit card payments, and billing.
- Review and verify room rates, charges, and no-show fees.
3. Security & Safety
- Monitor the safety and security of the property, conducting regular checks of common areas and entry points.
- Respond to emergencies and escalate issues to appropriate departments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures during the night shift.
4. Operational Duties
- Manage night shift handovers to the morning team, providing detailed updates.
- Assist in pre-arrival preparations for VIP guests and special requests.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to address guest needs and ensure readiness for the next day.
- Set up and prepare areas like the lobby or breakfast area as needed.
