NURSING LECTURER

I. POSITION SUMMARY
The Nursing Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical instruction in nursing, while ensuring effective classroom and practical room management. The role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in administrative documentation, and the ability to foster positive communication with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders. The lecturer will also contribute to the planning and execution of nursing-related events and activities.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Classroom management • Develop and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and workshops aligned with the nursing curriculum. • Implement effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning needs. • Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and academic success. • Monitor and address student attendance, performance, and discipline, in line with institutional policies.
- Practical room and equipment usage • Oversee the use of the practical nursing laboratory and simulation equipment. • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, stored, and utilized in accordance with safety and operational guidelines. • Demonstrate practical procedures, supervise skill acquisition, and guide students in the correct use of nursing tools and devices.
- Administrative documentation • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and academic progress. • Contribute to the preparation and review of course materials, assessment tools, and documentation for accreditation purposes. • Assist in compiling reports, records, and documentation for audits, evaluations, and institutional requirements.
- Interpersonal communication • Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader community. • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students, addressing their academic and professional concerns. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
- Event Management • Participate in planning and organizing departmental events such as workshops, seminars, health campaigns, and community outreach programs. • Support the coordination of field visits, guest lectures, and professional development activities for students. • Assist in promoting the nursing program through events, networking, and engagement with stakeholders.
III. Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required); Master’s degree in Nursing or related field (preferred). • Valid Nursing License/Registration. • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience. • Prior experience in teaching or training in a healthcare or academic setting is an advantage. • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. • Familiarity with educational technology, nursing simulation equipment, and contemporary teaching methods. • Strong Computer skill Internet searching, Microsoft office • Strong English language proficiency: reading, written, and spoken
