RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate medical information and history provided by applicants to assess risk levels and determine appropriate premium rates. - Review and analyze medical records, reports, and other relevant documents to make informed underwriting decisions. - Collaborate with medical professionals and other internal teams to resolve complex underwriting cases and provide recommendations. - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior underwriting staff to ensure accuracy and consistency in underwriting practices. - Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, company policies, and procedures for medical underwriting. - Communicate underwriting decisions and justifications effectively to internal stakeholders and clients. - Monitor emerging trends in the healthcare industry and incorporate relevant changes into underwriting practices. - Analyze claims data and trends to adjust underwriting guidelines and improve policy offerings. - Participate in the development of new products and strategies to expand the company's market share in the medical insurance sector. - Maintain detailed and accurate records of underwriting decisions, correspondence, and documentation for audit purposes.
REQUIREMENT - Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Health Sciences, Insurance, or a related field. - Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in medical underwriting, preferably within the general insurance sector. - Strong understanding of medical terminology, health risks, and insurance policies. - In-depth knowledge of Cambodian insurance regulations, industry standards, and underwriting guidelines. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. - Ability to communicate complex medical information in an understandable way to non-medical stakeholders. - Strong leadership abilities and experience mentoring junior staff. - Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and underwriting software. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Khmer and English.
