OB ANNOUNCEMENT ASIA-PACIFIC FREDFORT International School is seeking teaching staff to for Academic Year 2024-2025 with the following positions: Job Title: Early Years Teacher (Native) 4 Positions Primary Years Teachers (Native) 6 Positions Secondary Years Teachers (Native) 6 Positions Physical Education Teacher (Native) 1 Position Chinese Teacher (Native Chinese) 1 Position Salary: $1400 Working days: Monday to Saturday Main Duties and Responsibilities 1-Teaching and learning 1.Places appropriate emphasis on concept driven and inquiry based learning 2.Promotes the understanding and practice of academic honesty 3.Supports students to become actively responsible for their own learning 4.Addresses human commonality, diversity and multiple perspectives 5.Addresses the diversity of student language needs, including those for students learning in a language(s) other than mother tongue 6.Demonstrates that all teachers are responsible for language development of students 7.Uses a range and variety of strategies and incorporates a range of resources, including information technologies 8.Develops student attitudes and skills that allow for meaningful student action in response to students’ own needs and the needs of others 9.Engages students in reflecting on how, what and why they are learning 10.Fosters a stimulating learning environment based on understanding and respect 11.Sets homework to reinforce, as well as extend, knowledge and understanding of the material covered in the lesson in which it is set 12.Develop students’ cognitive, creative, critical thinking and reflection skills 13.Foster students’ self-esteem, motivation and social responsibility 14.Empower students to become independent learners 15.Maintain an atmosphere and relationship with students conducive learning while fostering confidence and resilience 16.Design, prepare and deliver high quality learning and teaching to suit the individual 17.Develop a learning environment to reflect best practice in contemporary pedagogy 18.Scaffold language development for all students 19.Work collaboratively and maintain positive, supportive relationships and open communication with students, parents and colleagues as we work together striving for excellence 20.Work with colleagues to ensure continuity and progression in the curriculum 21.Integrate IT into teaching and learning to enhance individual and collaborative learning where appropriate. 2-Assessment 1.Ensures marking is based on WACE criteria, and is transparent, detailed, informative, and constructively critical so that the students may be able to reflect on and learn from their performance 2.Uses a range of strategies and tools to assess student learning 3.Sets and marks written work on a regular basis, and returns it as soon as possible 4.Provides students with timely feedback to inform and improve their learning 5.Ensures the writing of reports and entering of grades conform to the school policy 6.Use appropriate formative and summative assessments to plan for the differing needs of learners in the class 7.Assess and monitor student progress providing constructive feedback to ensure all students improve and succeed 8.Communicate effectively with families regarding the curriculum and student development through portfolios, reports and conferences as required 3-Pedagogy 1.Apply the most up to date, research-based strategies to address the needs of diverse learners 2.Create learning situations where skills, content and tasks are relevant, realistic and authentic 3.Promote active learning and enquiry 4.Use ICT to enhance learning to support collaboration, content creation and communication 5.Use inclusive strategies so that all learners can access the curriculum and make progress 6.Support learners to set their own goals and objectives 7.Promote self-regulation and independent learning.
