Merchandising Manager About the role The Merchandising Manager plays a key role in planning and executing product merchandising strategies, market trends, consumer behavior, and product positioning to ensure effective and aesthetic displays. The Merchandising Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing product visibility and driving sales and brand loyalty. About you The Merchandising Manager will oversee all merchandise at Tsutaya. An effective communicator, you will oversee all merchandise at Tsutaya, from selection, to ordering to creating visually appealing and customer-centric displays that promote Tsutaya’s branding. Main Responsibilities of a Merchandising Manager 1. Product Selection and Procurement • Identify and analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings to guide strategic product selection. • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring a diverse and high-quality product assortment. • Utilize effective negotiation skills to optimize product margins by securing favorable pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers. • Implement measures to ensure the procurement of high-quality products, aligning with brand standards and customer expectations. • Management for ST & LSG , KMB section 2. Inventory Management • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory. • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify fast-moving and slow-moving products, providing recommendations for restocking or clearance. • Work closely with the logistics team to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of merchandise. • Manage and Control book stock in-out and inventory. • Utilize forecasting tools for proactive inventory adjustments and stock replenishments based on anticipated demand and new arrival order. 3. Pricing Strategy • Develop pricing strategies that balance competitive positioning with profitability goals. • Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and consumer behavior to adjust pricing strategies as needed. • Implement dynamic pricing models, responding to changes in market conditions to maintain competitiveness. 4. Promotions, Events and Marketing Support • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotions, sales, and marketing campaigns for enhanced product visibility and increased sales. • Provide valuable product knowledge and insights to support the creation of effective marketing materials. • Develop initiatives to actively engage customers through promotions, fostering brand loyalty and driving sales. 5. Team Collaboration • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, events and finance, to ensure merchandise strategies align with overall business objectives. • Provide training and guidance to team members, enhancing their product knowledge and merchandising skills for improved performance. • Foster open and effective communication channels across teams, promoting a collaborative work environment. • Gather and integrate feedback from various teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in merchandise strategies and execution. 6. Tasks as assigned by Management. Education & Experience • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; • 5 to 10 years’ experience in merchandising and managing teams effectively; • Possess strong negotiation skills and can arrive at win-win solutions with partners and suppliers; • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; • Strong analytical skills and comfortable dealing with numerical data and systems; • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite • Languages: Fluent in English, competency in either Japanese or Chinese (Mandarin) or other language valuable but not required. Other Details Working hours: Up to 48 hours per week; primary work days are Monday to Friday with work outside of office hours required on occasions Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia Reports to: General Manager Direct reports: Two staffs Compensation: Tsutaya is offering a competitive base salary commensurate with experience
