The Assistant Housekeeping Manager oversees the operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. This position supports the Housekeeping Manager in coordinating staff, managing schedules, maintaining inventory, and providing hotel standards and safety regulations compliance.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring housekeeping staff.
- Monitor team performance, providing constructive feedback and addressing any issues.
- Schedule and assign daily tasks to ensure optimal staff coverage.
- Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet hotel cleanliness standards.
- Conduct daily inspections and quality checks.
- Address guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain an adequate stock of cleaning supplies and amenities.
- Monitor usage and manage inventory control to minimize waste and manage costs.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment.
- Implement training programs for new and existing staff on hotel standards, cleaning techniques, and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Keep up to date with new cleaning products and procedures.
- Prepare reports on staff performance, inventory, and departmental activities.
- Communicate with other departments (e.g., front office and maintenance) to coordinate room readiness.
- Assist in developing and updating the housekeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and guest relations.
- Take initiative to exceed guest expectations whenever possible.
- Support special projects and deep-cleaning initiatives as needed.
- Stand in for the Housekeeping Manager when required.
- Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking.
