We are seeking a talented and creative Pastry Sous Chef to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, and other sweet foods. Your skill in baking high-quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop and decorate inventive desserts. As a Pastry Sous Chef, you will be second in command to the Executive Pastry Chef and will assist in leading the pastry team and ensuring our desserts meet and exceed our guests’ expectations. Duties and responsibilities include: • Assisting in the preparation and baking of pastries, desserts, breads and other baked goods • Overseeing the production of pastry items and ensuring quality standards are met • Developing new recipes and innovative presentation styles for baked goods • Ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations • Supervising, training and mentoring junior staff in pastry production • Managing inventory and ordering baking supplies as needed • Assisting in the plating and presentation of desserts during service • Maintaining equipment and ensuring that ovens and other baking tools are in good working order • Addressing any problems or complaints regarding desserts and pastries
