Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A master’s degree in a relevant field may be an advantage. Experience Proven experience in designing and managing water stream, drainage, or river engineering projects. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM). Experience in erosion control, sedimentation studies, and floodplain analysis. Technical Skills Proficiency in using design software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or GIS tools for mapping and analysis. Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations regarding water resources. Strong analytical skills for interpreting data related to hydrology, soil mechanics, and water flow dynamics. Key Responsibilities Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for water stream projects. Design and oversee the construction of water stream infrastructure (e.g., culverts, embankments, flood control systems). Evaluate environmental impact and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations related to water resources. Perform maintenance assessments of existing water stream systems and recommend improvements. Soft Skills Excellent communication skills for liaising with stakeholders, contractors, and team members. Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Other Requirements Availability to travel to project sites as required. Physical fitness to work in challenging outdoor environments. Commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly engineering practices.
