Project Manager for Progammer

A Project Manager for Programmers is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role involves coordinating the efforts of team members, including programmers, and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Roles and Responsibilities (R&R) 1. Project Planning and Management: o Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. o Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. o Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. o Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. 2. Team Coordination: o Direct and manage project development from beginning to end. o Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. o Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. o Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. 3. Communication: o Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. o Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. o Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. o Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. 4. Quality Assurance: o Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle. o Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. o Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management. 5. Risk Management: o Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. o Track project milestones and deliverables. o Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. 6. Stakeholder Management: o Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project. o Conduct project reviews and create detailed reports for executive staff. Skills and Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • Experience: Proven experience in project management, especially in managing software development projects. • Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is preferred. • Skills: Strong understanding of software development life cycles, excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, proficiency with project management software tools.
