Job Summary The IT Support Specialist is a key position within the Honorary Consul Office of Cyprus, tasked with maintaining and improving the technological infrastructure. This role ensures the continuous operation and security of IT systems, supporting consular services, visa processing, and administrative functions. What you will have: 1. IT Infrastructure Management: Manage all IT-related equipment and systems, including servers, networks, hardware, and software applications, ensuring operational efficiency and robust security. 2. Technical Support: Provide first-line technical support for IT issues, troubleshooting problems related to computers, printers, network connections, and telecommunication systems to minimize disruptions. 3. System Security: Implement and oversee security protocols for computer systems, networks, and data, adhering to governmental and international data security standards. 4. Software Management: Install, configure, and update necessary software, ensuring proper licenses and training staff on new systems. 5. Network Administration: Manage the local area network (LAN), internet, and intranet setups, monitoring performance to maintain high availability. 6. User Support and Training: Set up workstations and accounts for new users and provide ongoing training and support to maximize technology use. 7. Data Management and Restoration: Oversee the storage, backup, and restoration of critical consular and visa applicant data. Implement robust data recovery processes to ensure data is recoverable following system failures or security breaches. 8. Vendor Management: Coordinate with IT service providers and vendors for efficient service and maintenance. 9. Emergency IT Support: Respond swiftly to IT emergencies, ensuring critical systems are restored with minimal impact on consular operations. 10. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems and changes. Report regularly on IT status, challenges, and solutions to the Support Manager. 11. Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation and manage resources to ensure cost-effectiveness. 12. Project Management: Lead IT projects, such as system upgrades and new technology integrations, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. 13. Compliance and Best Practices: Keep updated on technology trends and cybersecurity threats, recommending system enhancements and best practices. 14. Consular IT Support: Tailor IT solutions to support the specific needs of consular services, ensuring technology aligns with the goals and requirements of the consulate. Facilitate the integration of technology to streamline consular operations and improve service delivery to stakeholders. What you bring: - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. - Extensive experience in IT support, network administration, or system security. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. -Experience with IT systems in a diplomatic or governmental environment is highly desirable.
