To ensure success as credit controller, you should have a good eye for detail and the ability to reconcile complex company accounts. Ultimately, a top-class credit controller can maximize company profits by efficiently managing its debts. Credit Controller Responsibilities: • Evaluating new credit requests and conducting client credit checks. • Develop and implement effective credit control policies and procedures to minimize credit risk and improve collection efficiency. • Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through financial analysis, credit checks and payment history review • Setting up the terms of credit for new clients. • Managing the collection of all payments and debts. • Responding to client inquiries. • Preparing statements and reports for the company accountant. • Communicating with customers, as well as internal personnel including the sales team • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and address any payment delays or discrepancies promptly. • Engage with customers to establish payment plans, negotiate payment terms and resolve billing inquiries or disputes. • Develop and implement strategies to minimize late or non-payment by customers, including initiating collection actions and negotiating payment plans. • Prepare the weekly collection activities plan, and report daily and monthly • Perform other task assigned by management Credit Controller Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or mathematics. • Previous work experience as a credit controller. • Good understanding of the legal complexities of credit, payment plans. • Proficient in Accounting and Office software. • Ability to reconcile complex debtors' accounts. • Strong communication skills. • Ability to deal with problematic clients.
