Position: Manager of Khmer Program Duties and responsibilities • High level classroom practitioner with a wide range of teaching skills; • High level inter-personal skills enabling effective team leadership; • Ability to evaluate the work of others and enable their development through consultation, coaching and support; • Ability to analyse data and information, identify patterns and trends; • Ability to formulate strategies for improved learning as a result of the above. • Develop a tactical plan and action plan for the department and campuses to execute • Plan the academic school year and school events • Formulate policies on teacher quality control and incentives • Formulate quality assurance policies on teaching and learning • Establish comprehensive learning outcomes for all levels • Build network and partnerships related to language education provision • Generate courses that meet the market demands • Organize workshops for teachers on professional development • Organize workshops for youths on language development • The day to day academic management and administration of the academic department • Responsibility for day to day operations within the school • Update the school’s student policies when needed • Providing support and advice to, and working with the Administration, Marketing, Student Services and Accounts Departments across the whole school • Maintenance of compliance with the MoEYS • Attendance at departmental and interdepartmental meetings • Interviewing and hiring of teaching and emergency teaching staff • Interviewing and hiring of other staff (along other managers) as needed • Maintenance of the teaching timetable • Provide ongoing direction, mentoring and support to the academic staff and teachers • Maintaining the school to high standards • Teaching observations and follow up as required • Checking of pay claims and recording of teaching hours for part-time • Developing of new, and updating of existing curriculum • Developing of new, and updating of existing academic department procedures and systems • Co-ordination of the purchase of, and development of resources and materials for both teaching staff and students • Development of new pathways and liaison with existing pathway providers • providing a vision for learning within the department in line with that of the faculty; • ensuring high standards of teaching, addressing any issues where teaching falls below the required standards; • ensuring that all courses have schemes of work that enable examination objectives and other whole school objectives to be met. Ensuring that those courses are appropriately resourced; • ensuring that learning is personalised through good use of assessment data and good assessment practice including focused work for all ability levels including those with Special Educational Needs and those who are identified as Gifted and Talented; • supporting staff in dealing effectively with student behavior in order to remove barriers to learning; • ensuring that department staff complete school monitoring, recording and reporting requirements to a high standard; • ensuring that all new staff receive a comprehensive induction • supporting the continuing professional development of department staff • keeping up-to-date with relevant issues • facilitating the sharing of good practice through meetings • annual Performance Management of colleagues under direct line management • Other relevant tasks are assigned by Manager of Khmer Program Unit
